On the 2nd Saturday of the month (No Meeting in January. November is the Annual Show)
we have a packed agenda.
There are Tree Workshops in our covered open air courtyard, where you can bring your own trees to work on and enjoy the company of your peers and the benefit of our highly experienced tutors.
Beginner Classes are a great way for newcomers to learn the fundamentals of the art and for artists of any level to refine their skills.
We have some of the most respected members of the Australian Bonsai community at our club and who share their wealth of knowledge to teach classes and give demonstrations. We also invite National and International artists to speak at the club from time to time.
Bus Trips are a fantastic opportunity to visit other clubs or visit respected collections as a group. In 2023 we went to the Bimer Annual Show which happened to be at the Brisbane Botanic Garden in Mount Coot-Tha National Gardens. The Gardens have a beautiful Bonsai display and gorgeous Japanese Garden.
At the club each month members are encouraged to bring along trees for display and receive critiques from the more experienced members of the club. These offer an insight into how a tree is perceived and can highlight a perspective you may not have seen yourself.
These trees are displayed and voted on by the members present and the winner receives a certificate.
One of the best things we have at our club is a prepared lunch. For a very reasonable charge we have a usually hot meal and communal tables to sit and chat as a group.
At every meeting we have a Free Lucky Door Prize and a Raffle.
